A cornerstone of N3 was the development of guidance on Creativity in Community-led Planning in Dorset which came out of the Wide Open Space conference on the subject. It is a set of written guidance aimed at local residents and councillors produced by Ginkgo for community organisations making a plan in Dorset, but it is nationally relevant.  In line with the government’s Localism agenda which aims to give power back to local communities and most importantly encourage the use of creativity in the development of Neighbourhood Plans, alongside the recognition of the contribution of creativity to local place-making. It recognises the difficulties in funding this type of work and calls for the maximum utilisation of local cultural assets that create future opportunities for a more diverse cultural programme.

It was accompanied by a pilot commission in which We Made That worked with the Gillingham Neighbourhood Planning Group to survey and develop the cultural assets of Gillingham as an integral part of the process.
